The Rattlers School Out Smash Tournament team racked up 16 runs in their double-header on Saturday as they advanced through the first round of the School Out Smash Tournament playoffs.
Their opponent in the double-header was a spirited Waterloo Lightning baseball team. The Rattlers earned a shutout in the first game, 11-0, and won the second in a tighter game by the score of 5-1.
Hits in the tourney so far have come from Thelen, Calabria, Capp, Capece, Bertollini, Filighera, Rumpel, Sadowski and Gunnip. Pitchers have included Hildreth, Filighera, Bertollini, Rumpel, Pearce and Thelen.
The next game for the Rattlers is at 11am on Sunday, when they take on the Mad Dogs. Winner advances to the Championship game on Sunday at 1pm.
