The Rattlers Clash team fell to the Tri-Town All-Stars in a rematch on a cold Sunday morning at Legends Field.
The game was close early. With Griff Filighera starting on the mound for the Rattlers, they lead 2-1.
Then, Tri-Town went on a hitting rally. Ground balls were hit to gaps that left the Rattlers defense frustrated. After 7 runs were scored, Dylan Bertollini stepped in for Filighera. After giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, Bertollini was replaced by Nicholas Capece.
With no outs, Capece struck out the first batter. The 2nd out came from a ground ball put-out from 3rd base and then Capece got the final put-out on a hit to the pitcher to end the brutal inning. Tri-town brought in 9 runs and ate up about 40-minutes of precious game time in the inning (there is a 1:45 time limit per game).
Capece started the next inning on the mound, before being replaced by KJ Cochran as the game winded down. Cicero tried to mount a comeback but was unable to bring runs in as time ran out on the game (and the tournament). The final score was 13-2, Tri-Town.
