Cicero Rattlers RBI took the field at Sunnycrest Park on Monday night to face Syracuse RBI Barnum.
The night started with a number of walks by both teams, leading to runs.
Syracuse RBI Barnum was leading in the top of the first inning 3-0 when Nicholas Capece came in as pitcher. He quickly ended the inning with two straight strike-outs.
Cicero came back to score 5 in the inning to bring the score to 5-3 in their favor. Capece continued on the mound, holding Barnum to one run, which came in as Cicero executed a run-down between first and second bases.
Cicero took control of the game, scoring 1 in the second inning and another 9 in the third inning. Ethan Matthews closed out the game on the mound as he held Barnum scoreless in the 4th inning. The game was ended with Cicero in the lead by 10 runs.
Cicero notched 12 hits on the night from Calabria, Thelen, Matthews (2), Sadowski, Fudge (2), Bombard (2), Capece (2) and Devinney.
MVP on the night for Cicero was Nicholas Capece, who went 2/2 at the plate, scored 2 runs and took control of the game from the mound.
