The Cicero Rattlers ended their tournament weekend on Sunday with a close game against the Diamond Pro 14u baseball team.
Lucas Thelen started on the mound for Cicero Sunday morning and held the D Pros to 1 run until the 4th inning, where a few hits, walks and errors gave the D Pros a 4-0 lead. Connor Pearce came in to relieve Thelen and gave up no runs through the 7th inning. Unfortunately, the D Pros pitchers were able to limit Cicero to just one hit on the day (Thelen). The final score was 4-0 in the Diamond Pros favor.
Earlier in the tournament, Cicero faced two of the top teams – Fulton Fury and CNY Naturals – and was unable to notch a win.
This was the first tournament for the Cicero Rattlers this season, as well as their first actual games.
Players who pitched for Cicero included: Lucas Thelen, Jacob Calabria, Connor Pearce, Ethan Matthews and Chase Mearon.
Cicero will be competing next in the NY State Travel Ball Championship from August 1-2 at Legends Field in Oswego.
