Cicero fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-1 loss to the Jr. Chiefs on Saturday.

Cicero struggled to contain the offense of the Jr. Chiefs, giving up ten runs off of 12 hits.

Cicero couldn’t generate much offense of their own, managing only 1 hit in the game. Avery Pankow went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Cicero in hits. Sean Bombard led Cicero with two stolen bases out of the ten tallied by the team on the night.

Nicholas Capece was on the pitcher’s mound for Cicero. He allowed nine hits and seven runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six.

Connor Pearce threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen, giving up 3 runs and striking out 2.

There were some highlight plays on defense for Cicero.

Jayden Wilmot snagged a ceiling drop at 3rd base.

Michael Mooney grabbed a pop-fly for an out at first base, as well as a solo put out and a tag play at first base.

Nicholas Capece made a nice play off the mound, fielding a bouncing ball and getting the runner out at first base.

Connor Pearce and Alex Smith both made nice long throws to first base for outs. Avery Pankow also made a nice play to first base.

MVP on the night was Avery Pankow for getting the only hit and run of the night, along with stolen bases.
