Bats were blistered as the Cicero Rattlers 10u team defeated Ferguson 11u 11-6 on Wednesday.
Rattlers got things started in the first inning after a Mason Vangel single. They finished the inning with 3 runs to lead 3-0. They added another 3 in the third inning, and led 6-4 heading into the 5th inning.
The Rattlers went on to tally five runs in the fifth inning. Ryan Hooser, Mason Vangel, TJ Vulcano, Max Balamut, and Hunter Woods powered the big inning with RBIs.
Hunter Woods led the team with 3 hits, followed by Mason Vangel (2), Sullivan Woods (1), TJ Vulcano (1), Jonathan Verrault (1), and Max Balamut (1) .
Balamut led the team in RBI’s with 4 followed by Vangel (3), Woods (2), Hooser (1) and Vulcano (1)
Top 5 QAB’s at the plate were Hooser, Vulcano, Marc D’Amico, Dean Capece and Vangel.
Hooser led the Rattlers with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
Vangel got the win for Cicero Rattlers. The hurler surrendered two runs on one hit over two innings, striking out three. Balamut and H. Woods entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Hunter recorded the last three outs to earn the save.
