The Cicero Rattlers 10u team came out fired up and ready to play their second game of the winter season on Saturday afternoon. In this matchup, they would share the field with the East Syracuse Minoa 10u team.

Hits on the day from the Rattlers came from Jonathan Verreault, Dean Capece, Ryan Hooser, Hunter Woods, Adrian Muller and Abi Smith-Calderon. Muller earned himself a 4-bagger in this game.

The Rattlers started off with solid hits, but weren’t able to bring in runs until the 4th inning – when they were already down 5-0. They notched 4 runs of their own in the 4th inning and a valiant effort narrowed the gap to 10-8 at one point – but when the 50-minute buzzer sounded, they were behind 13-10.

Fans were treated to a much more exciting performance by the Rattlers compared to their first game of the season a week earlier. The team racked up hits and made a number of solid plays on defense. Ultimately, two home runs from ESM with runners on base were too much to overcome.

Team Captains for the Rattlers in this game were Hunter Woods (3b) and Dean Capece (2b).

Game MVP for this game was Adrian Muller, who made a number of plays on defense and earned two hits – which included a home run.

Team quote for this game: “Don’t let your worst enemy live between your ears.”

The next game for the Rattlers is scheduled for January 21st at 3pm against the Syracuse Warriors at the 481 Sports Center Arena in East Syracuse.
