The winter season opener for the Rattlers ended with an exciting 4-bagger, as Ryan Hooser belted a long ball to right field in the final seconds of the game.
This was the first game of the 10u winter season for the Rattlers, as they met up with the home team – Sports Zone 10u.
The setting and fast pace took some time to get used to, with plays off the ceiling, hanging nets and a pitching machine set about 40 feet away from the plate.
While the Sports Zone 10u team brought in more runs in this matchup, this Rattlers squad had their fair share of plays and hits to keep their fans cheering.
This was especially true when the final batter of the game (Ryan Hooser), who had 2-strikes on him, launched a hit deep to right field. He raced around the bases and, as the buzzer sounded, beat the throw to the plate to notch the first home run of the season for his team.
Hits on the night for the Rattlers came from Jonathan Verreault, Abi Smith-Calderon and Ryan Hooser.
