The Rattlers CLL team suffered back to back losses, snapping a win streak that went back almost a year.
Their first game was against the home team, Syracuse. Syracuse jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, before the Rattlers brought in 3 runs in the second inning to go ahead 3-1. Syracuse tied the game up at 3 in the bottom of the second inning. Syracuse brought in 3 more runs in the third inning to go ahead 6-3. The Rattlers notched another run in the top of the fourth inning to make it 6-4, Syracuse. Unfortunately, Syracuse had a blow-out final inning as they racked up 8 runs courtesy of walks, hits and a handful of errors. This was the second game between the two squads this season, with both earning one win.
The second game for the Rattlers was against the East-Syracuse Minoa 16u team. On this day, the Rattlers would rack up 17 hits, while ESM landed 23 hits. Unfortunately, the Rattlers left too many runners on throughout the game, including multiple times with bases loaded. This led to a blowout in ESM’s favor that turned a 16-9 5th inning score into a 21-9 final score after 7 innings.
The next game for the Rattlers CLL squad will come against North Syracuse on Sunday, 8/8.
