Cicero’s CLL squad met up with Central Square on Friday night in Clay Park North for their first meeting of the CLL 15u season.
Both teams started out slow, with Central Square leading after the first inning, 1-0. Cicero’s only hit in the first came off of a deep fly ball by Capece, who was left on 2B to end the inning.
Cicero got the game under control in the 2nd inning, putting up 3 runs on their way to a 15-2 win.
Multiple hits, aggressive base running, patient batters and solid pitching paved the way to victory.
Toeing the rubber for Cicero was Ethan Matthews. He went on to play the entire game, dominating the Red Hawks. He ended the day with 7 strike outs, 2 hits and 2 walks. His performance earned himself the MVP for this game.

Doubles on the night came from Capece, Matthews, Capp and Devinney.
