Cicero came into the Sports Center Arena on Saturday looking to end the first part of their indoor season with some positive takeaways.

By the end of the night, Cicero tied their season high of 10 hits and put 29 balls into play – beating their previous mark of 22 – as they put up 3 runs.

Hits on this night came from Michael Mooney, Nicholas Capece, Jackson Fudge, Frankie Sgroi, Avery Pankow, Alysa Mooney, Connor Pearce and Sean Bombard (who went 4/5 on the night).

One of the memorable plays on the night came when  Sean Bombard escaped a run-down between 2nd and 3rd base. Bombard took advantage of defensive errors and scored a run for Cicero. Bombard also went 4 for 5 at the plate and made an impressive catch at 2nd base, which helped earn him his first game MVP of the indoor season.

There were a number of solid plays from Cicero’s middle-infielders, including Nicholas Capece (SS), Sean Bombard (2B), Landon Coyle (2B) and Avery Pankow (2B). Frankie Sgroi added some long throws from 3rd base to Michael Mooney, who made a number of tough scoops on the night.

Hey Cicero Fans – This may be the last game of this indoor season, but there may be another chance to cheer on your Cicero team due to the snow-day a few weeks back. Keep an eye on the schedule.
