Cicero came into Sports Center prepared for the best after a promising increase in hits last week.
Unfortunately, they struggled to get 5 hits on Saturday night, while managing to put 12 balls into play.
By the end of the night, a combination of careless errors and a lack of hits doomed Cicero.
Hits on this night came off the bats of Michael Mooney, Jackson Fudge, Avery Pankow, Alysa Mooney and Sean Bombard.
Defensive high points on the night were the 2 double plays made by Alex Smith, who showed both fielding skills and awareness as he made the plays. Michael Mooney also made dazzling scoops and catches at first base, not to mention multiple tags. Nicholas Capece, Avery Pankow and Landon Coyle also made plays for outs. Cicero’s MVP for the night went to Alex Smith.
Cicero faces Syracuse RBI next week for what might be their final game of the second indoor baseball season. One promising note is that the previous match-up against Syracuse RBI ended with only a 4-point margin in SRBI’s favor.
